Just as DSBW analysts predicted a month ago, in July 2014 the demand for excursion tours to Europe grew almost 19% as compared to June. At the same time, prices for excursion tours have dropped a little, about 6%. These are the results of Excursion Tour Index EXDEX for July 2014, which was compiled by the DSBW analysts.
Travel Russian News and online travel agency Pososhok.ru are continuing their collaboration "Leaders of customer demand". Below are the top 20 outsider destinations of the current summer season, which have suffered the biggest setbacks in regard to the tourist flow. The rating has been compiled based on the sales of Pososhok.ru during the period from March to July of 2014.
Travel companies have reported to TRN about a steep drop in demand for the destination this year.
The DSBW experts expect the demand to increase a little in July. According to the forecast, it will constitute about 20-23 thousand queries in various search engines.
Experts’ estimations differ when it comes to assessing the prospects of the 2014 summer season in the sphere of educational tourism: some maintain that its volumes will stay the same or even increase, others remain cautiously pessimistic.
Currently, international tourism takes up 29% of the global services export. Tourism places fifth among the global export industries, coming in after the energy, chemical, food and automotive industries. However, for many developing countries tourism is the most important industry.
Demand for excursion tours to Europe is expected to drop 25.62% in April. Such is the forecast compiled by DSBW’s analysts based on the Excursion Tour Index EXDEX for March of 2014. According to the experts’ findings, the number of search queries for excursion tours to Europe in various online booking systems will amount to 20,172 in April, as opposed to 27,121 in this year’s March.
