The website of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow says that technical problems with the visa system are affecting global operations.
Travel companies have reported to TRN about a steep drop in demand for the destination this year.
Turkish authorities have made a decision to move the date of the new rules on the validity period of foreign passports becoming effective to the end of this year, TRN magazine was told in the Turkish Embassy’s Moscow department of culture and tourism.
According to the tourism department of the Spanish embassy, the process of issuing visas to Russian tourists is going on at the usual rate. This March the number of the issued visas grew 12% as compared to the same period last year.
Its proposals are to be reviewed by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. In case they approve the proposals, the latter will take effect next year. Tourist flow is expected to grow 40-60% thanks to the streamlined visa regime for Schengen countries.
