In March of 2013 TRN magazine released an interview with a representative of Bhutan’s tourist office in Russia. This year we have had another meeting with the country’s tourism authorities in order to get the latest news. TRN’s editor-in-chief had the opportunity to speak with Head of Planning and Projects Department of Bhutan’s Tourism Department Mr. Kinley Wangdi.

From 30% to 80% of tourists who bought tours for the New Year holidays merged the holidays with the following weekends – December 30 and 31, as well as January 9 and 10. This means that their holidays will now last for 12-14 days on average. TRN magazine got this information from tour operators that largely benefitted from the government’s order “On moving holidays in 2014”.
