It is the opinion of the Russian Tourism Union (RST) and of many travel business experts that the new ‘Regulations on the organized transport of groups of children by bus’, which are to come into effect on June 22, will undermine children’s bus tourism. RST has urged the government to postpone these regulations.
The forum took place on June 16-17 in a new hotel Radisson Rosa Khutor. The event was devoted to discussing the ‘Role of mega-events in the sustainable development of tourism’.
That is what Head of the Development Department of the Moscow Tourism and Hotel Business Committee Alexandr Kolesnikov believes, and he spoke about that during the business meeting ‘New Framework: Travel Business and Universities’. According to him, right now the capital’s travel firms are in need of about 4 thousand specialists.
According to travel search engine Kayak, during the first week of February the number of search queries regarding the flights to the host city of 2014 Olympics has grown 15% compared to the first week of January. Despite the increasingly high demand, it is currently possible to buy a one-way ticket from Moscow to Sochi for 3,000 rubles ($85). Kayak analysts project the prices to drop even more in a few days. It is also possible to find a vacant room for the coming weekend at an affordable price.
Participants and visitors of the 2014 Winter Olympics who stop in Moscow on their way to Sochi are entitled to discounts on the capital’s tourist services.
Independent online magazine Travel Russian News, website Superjob.ru and marketing communications agency PR2POINT are proud to present, as part of Travel Russian Awards, the “Rating of Russian Tour Operators – 2013”. The rating is based on a poll among Russian tourists which was conducted from November 20 to November 28 of 2013. Russians were offered a list of thirty largest Russian tour operators, from which they chose whom they believed to be the best. Among these companies were leaders of mass tourism and niche tour operators.
