Spain Expects Record High Tourist Flow from Russia
According to the tourism department of the Spanish embassy, this March the number of the issued visas grew 12% as compared to the same period last year.
The process of issuing visas to Russian tourists is going on at the usual rate. The embassy is sure that 2014 will set a new record of Russian arrivals to Spain.
Anex Tour told TRN magazine that as of now the company has sold 2.5 times as many tours to Spain as last year. According to preliminary estimates, in 2014 the tour operator will send about 90 thousand Russian tourists to the country.
“Each new season we do everything we can to make the product more affordable and multifaceted: we expand the resort roster, our flight network and the number of guaranteed hotels, and also organize excursion and city tours in addition to the classic beach holidays. This summer our Spain deal will feature Barcelona, coasts Costa Brava and Costa Dorada, islands Tenerife and Mallorca,” says Valentin Muskatin, expert on Spanish destination from the Development Department at Anex Tour.
The program ‘Dreams of Kings’ enjoys good demand among the operator’s tours. It includes visits to the most famous and notable cities of Spain: Barcelona – Valencia – Madrid – Toledo – Zaragoza – Figueres – Girona. No less popular is the tour ‘Mediterranean legends’, which acquaints travelers with four Mediterranean countries at once – Spain, France, the Principality of Monaco and Italy.
By the way, this summer the company will be offering direct flights to Spain from 15 Russian cities, among which are: Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Nizhniy Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Perm, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Tyumen and Ufa.
According to Rosstat (Federal State Statistics Service), in 2013 the country was visited by 1 million 13 thousand Russians. Last year Russian tourists were forth when it came to days spent in Spain, and the country itself was forth among the countries that Russians chose for their holidays abroad.
