Approximately 100-110 thousand Russians are forecasted to visit Indonesia this year. According to official sources, last year this figure was 94,500 Russians. For the past three years the average growth rate of Russian arrivals has been at a steady 8-10%.
The most sought-after outbound destinations from January to September were Turkey (2.7 million people,+20%), Egypt (1.4 million people,+17%), Greece (1.1 million,+69%), Spain (887.1 thousand,+29%), China (787.2 thousand,-20%), Finland (787.1 thousand,+102%), Thailand (683 thousand,+23%), Germany (638.1 thousand,+20%), Italy (605.5 thousand,+31%).
According to experts, car travel may well become one of the most popular types of domestic tourism in Russia. TRN magazine set out to explore the current market situation, while also getting expert opinion on the demand for the car tourism product, its peculiarities and the prospects for developing the segment.
As for the Russian tourists who have visited China this year, their number amounted to 883 thousand, which is a 12% year-over-year drop
Mr. Shpilko also said that the fastest growth rate (6.1%) in terms of tourist flow was exhibited by the countries of the Far Abroad, while prior to this year the CIS showed the best growth rate results
According Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, immediate attention is being paid to fostering tourism in the country. Local authorities have launched two major investment projects – ‘Veduchi’ and ‘Kezenoy-am’. In addition to that, the Chechen tourism committee is to hold a publicity event for travel agencies in the middle of November.
