Presentation of new Russian travel opportunities in Beijing

On June 26, a presentation tour Russian Tourism Road Show “Successful Russia” took place in Beijing; it was organized by the Federal Office for Tourism and by Travel Association “World without Borders”, from which TRN got this information.
While addressing the participants of the conference, the advisor and ambassador of the Russian Embassy in China Evgeny Tomikhin said that one of the tour’s objectives was to acquaint the Chinese friends with the modern Russia.
“We want to communicate to them the new image of Russia, which would reflect the manifold travel opportunities that the Russian Federation has to offer to our foreign partners,” said Mr Tomikhin.
Head of the International cooperation department of the Chinese travel authorities Mr Li Shi Hoo praised the wide array of tourism offers in Russia in his greeting speech.
“We are positive that future will only bring growth to travel cooperation and to tourist flow between our countries. We will do our best to give as many Chinese tourists as possible the opportunity to visit Russia, and we welcome Russian guests to China,” said Mr Li Shi Hoo.
CEO of the Chinese Tourism Department Jiang Ii proceeded to say: “We appreciate the rich historical heritage and the beautiful nature of Russia. We know that 2013 saw the first time when the number of Chinese visitors to Russia came close to one million. Russia is currently promoting new projects, with a consideration for new objectives of tourism development and for international standards. Among these projects is developing new itineraries. I think that the measures taken by Russia, Chinese travel authorities and by the Chinese Committee of commerce development will definitely attract more investors to tourism. I hope that our cooperation will serve as a new platform for developing the economy on the whole.”
The project “Successful Russia” is being implemented as part of the Federal target program “Developing domestic and inbound tourism in the Russian Federation (2011-2018)”. The test stage of the project was presented in Taipei (Taiwan) on April 1, 2014, where it was very well received by the participants and visitors. Also, the second stage of the tour that was organized as the 1st Russia-Korea Forum took place in Seoul (South Korea) on May 30-31, 2014. The following stages in China will be held in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
