UK visa delays to continue in the future

The delays for UK visas are likely to continue in the near future, and tourists are urged to take this into account when planning their trip to the UK.
“During the many dedicated meetings with the diplomats of the British Embassy in Moscow and with the FCO officials in London, British counterparts admitted to there being some technical problems in the work of the visa service, which had been caused in part by the change of British Visa Centers’ operator in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities. However, they assured that work on fixing the identified flaws was underway,” it says in the response to journalists by Alexandr Lukashevich, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Travel companies have reported to TRN about a steep drop in demand for the destination this year.
“We urge Russian tourists to apply for a visa in advance, about one and a half month before a trip. Many are inconvenienced by such a long waiting period, since three weeks used to suffice. This year, demand for the destination is quite low. This can be attributed to a number of reasons, and the visa problems are among them,” said Holiday M representatives.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will see the issue of British visa delays to its very resolution.
