More than 500 travel companies gathered at Travel IT WorkShop
Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy Moscow has hosted Travel IT WorkShop, an exhibition that saw great success and was organized by online travel magazine Travel Russian News and marketing communications agency PR2Point.
About 50 companies from various spheres of travel business put up stands exhibiting their products – online agencies, insurance companies, services consolidators, payment systems and tour operators. The exhibition enjoyed such high demand that not all of the potential participants were able to squeeze their stands in. The exhibition was visited by more than 500 travel companies.
During his opening speech at TITW, former head of the tourism and state program implementation office of the Moscow Tourism and Hotel Business Committee Igor Kozlov said that today, amid the county’s economic crisis, technologies have moved to the forefront of the travel business.
‘Agencies that are attending Travel IT WorkShop have an excellent opportunity to look at the latest IT advances and even adopt some of them,’ he said.
Chief Editor of Travel Russian News Alina Khorosheva proceeded to say, ‘A great testament to our and our partners’ efforts to make this a truly top-tier event is the place where it is being hosted – a great convention center Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy. Many international experts say that modern travelers no longer want to waste their time waiting. Tourists want to get quality service for their money, and they want it as fast as possible. The exhibition included 18 workshops, which exhibited the newest IT solutions ready for implementation in various travel business spheres.
Vladimir Dolgov, Director of IT department of Academservice, spoke about IT developments for business tourism.
Technical director of ruSPO Oleg Kamashev presented a system that facilitates booking tours based on search results.
CEO of Cherehapa Maksim Pichugin presented a unique service for booking travel insurance services, which are tailored to each client’s personal needs.
IT Director of i`way Ilya Chernyakov exhibited Russia’s first online booking system for transfers.
Head of Electric Commerce and Corporate Sales Board of the insurance company ERV Natalia Malinovskaya spoke about new insurance products, in particular about ‘Optima’. This policy covers 21 insurance events, including injuries received in an intoxicated state.
Deputy CEO of Teletrain Dmitry Vladimirov presented a unique project. He exhibited an online ticket booking system for suburban and interregional buses.
According to the exhibition’s supervisor Kirill Volkov, 50% of the participants have already shown their willingness to take part in the next Travel IT WorkShop in autumn.
