Russian Outbound Tourist Flow Can Grow 7% in 2014
According to the forecasts of ATOR analytical service, outbound tourist flow can grow 7% during 2014, CEO of the association Maya Lomidze has said on a press conference.
“This prospect is made feasible by the earliest ever early booking offers that have already been launched by many tour operators. There are now about 90 million offers on the internet,” she said.
According to Lomidze, the number of the internet searches for summer holiday programs grew 25% compared to the previous year. The leaders are Turkey, Egypt and Thailand, with 40% of the searches being for Turkey. Then come Spain, Greece, Italy, and, with a slight gap, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Croatia. Finland is the last of the ten.
The CEO of ATOR believes that the three leaders in early queries will maintain their position through summer.
Lomidze also said that, according to tour operators, the most sought-after destinations for the New Year period are Egypt and Thailand (beyond the Urals and in the Far East), with the UAE, Finland and India coming next.
